Elon Soddu, owner of Kensington’s Amaro Bar, has confirmed plans for a second venue in Earl’s Court, west London.

The bar, which will occupy premises in the pedestrianised area of Hogarth Place near Earl’s Court underground station, is planned to open in September 2023.

The vision is for the bar to bring contemporary takes on classic cocktails to the neighbourhood, with the space featuring 30 seats between the long bar counter and the sitting area in the back.

Soddu aims to emulate the mood of Amaro Bar – combining hotel-bar service in a neighbourhood setting – which he launched in late 2021 with a team that includes (L:R) Victor Maggiolo, Michele Saladino and Alessandro Barbari.

The former Savoy bartender has started the recruitment process ahead of the bar’s autumn launch.

He said: “Having launched Amaro Bar just over one year ago on Kensington High Street, the team have had the opportunity to get to know the borough. West London is full of residents who like to hang out locally and enjoy the vast array of sights, entertainment, and food offering. However, the local bar scene is not as rich and diverse as in other areas of central and east London.

“Being in the heart of a residential area and just off the underground station, our new location will expand London’s diverse bar scene to Earl’s Court, bringing its residents a new taste of modern mixology and a cosy space to relax and connect. We look forward to sharing more details as works progress and we grow our team.”
