CLASS magazine

Founded in 1997, CLASS has built a reputation as the most influential UK bar industry publication.

Website

Classbarmag.com is the new digital platform for Class magazine. Building on the success of our long-read print title, Class online quickens the pace, reacting to the fast-changing bar industry with exclusive, topical news from editor Hamish Smith and commentary from the leading bartenders, drinks writers and thought leaders of our industry.

Alongside daily news and comment, Classbarmag.com is a resource for bartenders, with an archive of cocktail recipes and video demonstrations – featuring Class writer Tristan Stephenson – alongside ingredient spotlights and historical dives into the world of drinks. In partnership with WSET educational platform The Mixing Class, the website will offer an encyclopaedia of the terms and production techniques of the world of spirits.

Together with this bespoke content, the site draws on the back catalogue of features, bar reviews, interviews and columns from Class magazine, while also hosting digital editions of the magazine.

Newsletter

The fortnightly CLASS newsletter – distributed to an initial 4,000 bartenders across the country – pulls together the most recent articles from the website and editor’s picks from the Class archive.

Magazine

Re-launched in 2016 by the team behind Drinks International (the founders of The World’s 50 Best Bars) CLASS opened a new chapter with a new design and fresh approach to trade journalism. Published quarterly, CLASS engages with the UK bartender with straight-talking, practical and inspiring articles.

Targeting the UK’s craft bar scene, CLASS is the essential read for key influencers and buyers, namely bartenders, bar managers and bar owners.

Each issue showcases smart and thoughtful independent writing alongside contemporary, artistic design. Our columns and features are written by specialist drinks writers and industry leaders offering new viewpoints, forward-thinking advice and analysis of the modern-day bar business.

CLASS magazine is distributed to the key purchasing decision-makers in the UK bar industry. Our strict terms of control ensure our circulation reaches the most influential and leading bar owners, bar managers and career-minded bartenders across the country. 5,000 printed copies are distributed to individual recipients every quarter.
