Elon Soddu, Victor Maggiolo and the team behind Amaro bar are today opening the doors to their second west London venue: Twice Shy.
Located close to Earl’s Court station, Twice Shy is pitched as an “elevated” neighbourhood cocktail bar and has capacity for 30 guests.
The site has an additional basement room - available for private events, hosting up to 15 people - while there is also a laboratory and kitchen.
The drinks - created by beverage director Victor Maggiolo and mixologists Juan Orellano, Andrea Ciocarlan, and Dionysios Tzorouchof – are more experimental than sister bar Amaro’s classical style, with rotating cocktails reflecting the seasons and drawing on the creativity of the team.
Examples include Lemongrass & Amalfi Lemon (lemongrass gin, Amalfi lemon distillate, Nardini cedar liqueur) and Vanilla & Sakura (vanilla soda, Italicus and Mancino Sakura vermouth)
Elon Soddu, owner of Twice Shy and Amaro Bar, said: “Since the opening of Amaro, we have been lucky enough to experience the love of our neighbourhood and of London’s bartending scene. West London is an area with a strong residential community but is not as rich in bar destinations as central and east [London].
“Our mission is to bring the uttermost hospitality and mixology to this part of the capital within the context of approachable and welcoming spaces, and we are very excited to be adding Twice Shy to our project."
The venue décor is described as “contemporary with wooden wall panels, a brushed wooden backbar and a black granite bar counter”.
From 18 December until 14 January 2024, Twice Shy will operate a soft launch menu offering a 25% discount on the total bill. It is open from Monday to Saturday 5pm-11.30pm.
