Voodoo Doll, the company behind MOJO bars, has announced the launch of new sites in Newcastle, Edinburgh and Liverpool.

The Newcastle bar, located on Newgate Street, is expected to open in late September with a capacity of 250. It will offer the full MOJO food menu and pizzas, as currently served in the Sheffield branch.

The Liverpool site, which will follow soon after, will be in a central location - Hanover Street - and will be in addition to the exisitng Liverpool venue.

MOJO Edinburgh meanwhile is expected in June 2023. Housed on Rose Street, the bar will have a capacity of 200, a pizza menu and also feature a “street café”.

There are currently six Mojo bars, with sites in Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool, Nottingham, Sheffield and Harrogate.

Martin Greenhow, owner and director, said: “The pandemic meant we had to put a halt on several plans for MOJO and we are so happy that we are now in a position to implement our expansion programme to bring great music, food, cold beer, killer cocktails and friendly staff to cities across the UK.

"We are in negotiation with several other units across the country. No city should be deprived of a MOJO.”

The new sites are part of a growth strategy that recently saw MOJO Leeds' head office become a BIIAB accredited training centre. The company goal is to have all employees, across the six MOJO establishments, receive their personal licence in a bid to "increase job satisfaction" and  aid "professional development".

Recruitment for the Newcastle venue will begin soon, with more details to be posted on the Mojo website.
