The Savoy’s American Bar in London has launched its latest menu, Liquid Moments.

Inspired by the hotel’s recent 135th anniversary, the menu recalls The Savoy’s most memorable moments through a collection of new signature cocktails.

Head bartender, Angelo Sparvoli, and bar manager, Andrea Di Chiara, have drawn on the stories of the hotel’s grand celebrations and occasions, with each represented by a cocktail.

Highlights include Since 1986 (pictured left), a tribute to Tony Cortegaca, the hotel’s doorman for 38 years, featuring Bacardi Carta Blanca rum and white port in a nod to his home country of Portugal.

New Heights (pictured right) is inspired by London’s first electric lift. Still in operation at the hotel today, guests originally travelling in the ‘ascending room’ were offered smelling salts to calm their nerves, something that is represented by the use of salt in the cocktail.

Salt is used as part of the fermentation of the blackberries in the cocktail, which are mixed with Absolut Elyx vodka, Cocchi Rosa and 30&40 Apple eau de vie.
