Liverpool wine and cocktail bar Burnt Milk Hotel has become the new community-focused venue, Bar Glue.

The Albert Dock bar close its doors last week as the founders Chris Edwards, Owain Williams and Sam Grainger, passed on the baton to general manager Mike Bower and bar manager Nathan Price.

With an ever-growing portfolio of brands including two Madre sites, Madre Burrito, Medlock Canteen and Belzan, the Cos Hospitality trio were happy to pass on the reins to the site's leadership team, who re-opened the venue as Bar Glue over the weekend.

Edwards said: “Our goal as a company has always been to grow and nurture talent so who better to take over the bar than two of our own staff. Mike and Nathan have shared our passion over the past two years for delicious drinks and building a community within the bar.

"They have big ambitions and a great work ethic; we’re more than confident they’ll take the venue in the right direction and are excited to see what the future brings.”

The aim of Bar Glue – also founded by Harriet Bower - is to create a space which “focuses on community, creativity and an exciting and accessible approach to the flavours and processes of bespoke cocktails”.

Mike Bower said: “We love the site and to have the opportunity to continue building the relationships that we’ve made with our guests over the last two years made the decision easy. We knew we could really utilise the space for the vision that we have so we took the site on as our first venture.”

Price added: “Our goal is to shine a light on how exciting and talented Liverpool’s bar scene is. Too often this incredible city is overlooked in favour of bigger places but what it offers is next to none [sic].”
