Andy Loudon has become director of bars at Rosewood London, whose flagship venue Scarfes Bar is among The World’s 50 Best Bars.

The appointment represents a high-profile move, following the departures of Scarfes stalwarts Martin Siska, the former area director of bars for Europe, and Yann Bouvignies who moved from his role as head of mixology to Rosewood Amsterdam.

Loudon’s career has taken him across three continents, starting in Europe where he was a part of Manchester’s fledgling cocktail scene before moving to London and taking on senior roles at 69 Colebrook Row and Satan’s Whiskers.

He went onto Tippling Club in Singapore as group director of bars in 2018, where he led the team to win numerous awards including No.11 on Asia’s 50 Best Bars in 2019 and No.43 in The World’s 50 Best Bars 2021.

Loudon then joined the team at Proof Creative as senior creative consultant in 2022, during which time he collaborated with Rosewood Hotels & Resorts in Asia.

In his new role, Loudon will also oversee the hotel’s Mirror Room and The Gin Bar at Holborn Dining Room.
