The UK bar industry has shone in Drinks International’s recently published Bar World 100 in association with Perrier, contributing 17 names to the list of influential figures, including Monica Berg who polled in first place.
It’s the fifth year running that the co-owner of east London’s Tayēr + Elementary has been voted by Drinks International’s global panel of industry commentators as the bar world's most influential.
London remains the global centre of bar industry influence, according to the list, making up 10% of the names, with a further five figures based in close proximity to the UK capital.
Iain McPherson from Panda & Sons in Edinburgh finished third in the annual list, while Londoners Sandrae Lawrence of The Cocktail Lovers, Ago Perrone of The Connaught and Alex Kratena of Tayēr + Elementary also featured in the top ten.
They were joined in the list by Ryan Chetiyawardana, Ian Burrell, Anna Sebastian, Becky Paskin, Salvatore Calabrese, Dave Broom, Anistatia Miller, Kaitlin Wilkes-Back, Chockie Tom, Hannah Sharman-Cox, Erik Lorincz and Simon Difford.
