Joe and Daniel Schofield have secured the site of Schofield’s London in Covent Garden, after almost three years of searching.
The sequel to their classical Manchester bar is to be located close to the West End's Seven Dials and Shaftesbury Avenue.
Leased from property firm Shaftesbury Capital, the site will now see an eight-week fit-out, with the bar's opening scheduled for early November.
The venue is set across two floors and will be larger in floorspace and covers than the original Schofield’s Bar.
“Upstairs will be for people to drop in for a quick drink, while downstairs guests will settle in for the night,” Joe Schofield told CLASS.
Schofield’s London will follow the Manchester site’s formula, with white-coated bartenders offering hotel bar-level service, while the menu will “champion classics” – familiar and less so – with a smattering of “seasonal” serves.
The brothers have commissioned many of the craftspeople who brought Schofield’s Manchester to life to create a “similar aesthetic” in London.
The pair will split their time between the two venues, relocating to London for the opening. They will be joined by members of the Manchester leadership team and have begun recruitment to hire local London-based bartenders.
Schofield’s Bar in Manchester launched in 2021 and was soon named the UK’s Best Bar - in 2022 and 2024 - while cementing its place as the North’s most respected bar, winning Best Bar in the North every year that the Class Bar Awards has run its regional awards.
