Continuing our highlights of the BBAs, next up is the top five gins.

Last year, Boatyard Double managed to topple Edinburgh Gin Cannonball’s supremacy at the top of the BBA gin rankings, but for 2026 normal service has been resumed.

The Scottish spirit has now been named gin Champion three of the last four times of asking, picking up gold medals in the blind tasting and for its design. Judges praised the gin’s “great balance” with “fantastic heat” and “nice length”. Its two golds and a silver were enough for Cannonball to comfortably see off the category competition.

In second place, Citadelle Original’s pronounced juniper character impressed the judges in the blind tasting, while its “beautiful” bottle delivered it the highest design score in the gin category.

Sipsmith’s London Dry completed the podium, picking up a gold for its recently redesigned bottle.

In fourth place was Still G.I.N., launched by hip-hop royalty Snoop Dogg and Dr Dre. While the bottle’s design didn’t do much for our judges, it was the second-highest performer in the blind tasting owing to its “great balance and structure”.

Rounding out the top five was a familiar face in Hendrick’s Original gin. Our judges awarded it silver medals for both value and its design, which was deemed “a classic now”.
