Pippa Guy and Sebastiano Fileccia will launch their debut bar in Bristol this winter, CLASS can exclusively reveal.

Same Again will open at Finzels Reach - a riverside site, near the city’s Castle Bridge, with an offering that focuses on champagne, whisky and seasonal cocktails.

A small bar, with a 40-cover capacity (20 inside and 20 out), the partners take over from Wellhead, with a planned opening date of mid January.

Guy, who rose to fame at The American Bar at The Savoy and currently works for Diageo, said the venture was initially “a bit of a surprise” and that the opportunity to take on the site that they’d previously coveted, suddenly “fell into our lap” on returning home from their travels.

Fileccia will run Same Again day to day, with Guy - the 2020 Class Bar Awards Bartender of the Year - working at the bar on weekends, with her focus remaining on her marketing role at Diageo.

She told CLASS: "Same Again will focus on the art of beauty in simplicity. We will have a carefully curated cocktail menu that will change frequently with the seasons and spotlight produce at its best.

"The bar will also highlight two of our individual passions; champagne and whisky, to be enjoyed in a a beautiful and intimate setting on the Bristol waterside."

The name, she said, refers to “when you have a drink that's so good you have to have the same again”.

Fileccia, the former GM of Class Bar Awards finalist Milk Thistle in Bristol, said the décor would be “light and airy, bright and elegant – somewhere that entices you in for a glass of champagne”.
