Esmeralda’s Mayfair, a new late-night live music lounge, will open in early December at Mandarin Oriental Mayfair on Hanover Square in London.
The venue takes inspiration from "the golden age of New York’s live lounges,” combining live music, food and drink, and late-night service.
The interiors blend vintage and contemporary elements, featuring burnt orange velvet curtains, a softly lit bar and low lounge seating.
From Thursday to Saturday, Esmeralda’s will host a six-piece band performing soul, funk, and disco with modern influences. Between sets, a DJ will continue the music programming into the early hours.
Cocktails will focus on reimagined classics - think Martinis, Margaritas and Cosmos - served with theatrical presentation, supported by a list of fine wines, champagnes, and rare spirits. Guests will also be offered Esmeralda’s signature closing gesture — a mini champagne serve presented with the bill.
The food menu aims to elevate comfort dishes, including caviar-topped chicken nuggets, Wagyu sliders, lobster rolls and oyster towers.
The concept has been created by twin brothers Lee Caulfield (Circle PR) and Nicky Caulfield (Molto Music Group), in partnership with Mandarin Oriental Mayfair.
Lee Caulfield said: “For years, I have worked with people who value privacy as much as they value great hospitality. Esmeralda’s will be a place for guests to disappear for hours, let their hair down, and feel completely themselves. No cameras, no performance — just the best live music, service, and a sense of freedom you cannot manufacture.”
Nicky Caulfield added: “Creating Esmeralda’s has been about shaping an experience rather than simply opening a bar. Every detail — from the music to the guests’ experience — has been curated to feel deliberate, personal, and alive.”
Hemal Jain, GM at Mandarin Oriental Mayfair, said: “Esmeralda’s was born from a desire to create a true sanctuary in the city — a place where the energy of live music meets the intimacy of late-night conversation.”
Mandarin Oriental Mayfair hotel guests will receive first access to the bar in December, with public reservations opening in January 2026.
