The Vero Bartender Competition Returns for Its 8th Edition
London, October 2025 – The wait is over. Amaro Montenegro, Italy’s number one premium amaro, proudly announces the return of The Vero Bartender, its global cocktail competition that celebrates creativity, storytelling, and the art of hospitality. Now in its 8th edition, the contest invites bartenders from across the UK to step behind the bar and channel the spirit of one of the most glamorous eras of cocktail culture: the 1960s.
This year’s theme, “Stirring the 60s,” pays tribute to a golden decade that shaped modern mixology. From Rome’s cinematic Via Veneto to London’s swinging mod scene, from New York’s jazz clubs to the sun-soaked American Riviera, the ’60s were a time of style, freedom, and cultural transformation. Bartenders are asked to reinterpret this iconic era in a glass—capturing its values and aesthetics through cocktails that highlight the versatility of Amaro Montenegro.
The Competition: Dates and Requirements
UK entries officially open on 6th October 2025 and close on 24th November 2025.
To participate, bartenders must:
- Submit a cocktail recipe inspired by the 1960s.
- Showcase the unique balance of Amaro Montenegro.
- Enter via the official Vero Bartender website where full requirements are listed.
Eight finalists will then compete in the UK National Final in London (February/March 2026).
The Prizes: National & Global Stages
The UK Champion will win an exclusive trip to Bologna, Italy, for an immersive brand residency with fellow national winners. This includes workshops, cultural experiences, and time with some of the world’s most respected bartenders.
The winner will also represent the UK at the Global Final in Bologna, Spring 2026. The ultimate champion will embark on a once-in-a-lifetime Italian journey: a week-long residency discovering the roots of mixology, living La Dolce Vita, and collaborating with legendary bars.
A Celebration of Timeless Hospitality
For many bartenders, The Vero Bartender is more than a competition—it’s a career-changing journey. Previous UK champion Miley Kendrick describes the experience:
