Angelos Bafas is to depart Creative Restaurant Group, where he worked across venues Nipperkin, NIJŪ, HUMO and Kioku by Endo.
After almost three years with the group, most recently operating as head of bars, overseeing the beverage programmes for its venues, Bafas will transition to drinks consultancy under the platform Ungarnished and launch a new Covent Garden cocktail bar.
The first phase of his consultancy business is to develop the drinks concept and programme for Kamara, the new Soho-based bar by Brother Marcus.
Bafas will continue to support Creative Restaurant Group in a consultancy capacity, building on the programmes he helped to shape, alongside a number of additional consultancy projects already underway.
Bafas said: “Leaving Creative Restaurant Group is a bittersweet moment after such an incredible journey. I am really thankful for what we accomplished with CRG and grateful for all the people I’ve worked with.
“I’m now excited to focus on consultancy, continue sharing the ideas behind HYPER drinks, and explore new projects that reflect my vision for the future of the bartending world, as well as focus on opening a brand new cocktail bar, coming to London’s Covent Garden this autumn.”
