Experimental Cocktail Club (ECC) Chinatown returns in revamped form this October, having closed this summer for refurbishment.
The new interiors from Dorothée Meilichzon, founder of Paris-based Studio CHZON, are inspired by the history of London’s Gerrard Street and Chinatown more widley.
Alongside new decor, ECC has refocused its music programme, now positioning itself as much as a listening room as a cocktail bar, taking in a variety of musical genres.
The new cocktail menu, led by GMr Timothy Falzon, opens with ‘ECC Classics’ - revivals of house signatures like the Saint Germain des Prés, the sparkling Old Cuban, with custom Chinatown Bitters.
The second section, ‘Design & Place’, draws inspiration from the bar’s location and interiors, with highlights including Turmeric is the New Black (turmeric vodka, chamomile, champagne) and Hay Jude (hay-infused cognac, beurre noisette distillate, bitters).
The seasonal drinks section opens with Sundowner Society (Ocho Tequila, plum, Aperol, lime, bitters) and You Make Miso Happy (bourbon, pineapple, miso, garlic eau de vie, lemon). Finally, the ‘Vintage Collection’ sees the likes of the De La Louisiane and a Vintage Negroni.
Alongside cocktails and music, ECC will introduce a late-night food offering. Two signature sandwiches created by Jackson Boxer will headline the menu, including the French Onion Soup Croque and a Mortadella & Stracciatella sandwich.
ECC Chinatown founding partner, Xavier Padovani, said: “This is a pivotal moment for us. We’ve never reimagined Experimental Cocktail Club in this way before, and every detail has been carefully considered.
"We intended to create an inclusive space where guests can truly lose themselves - whether through the night’s music, the cocktail in hand, or the food on the table. It’s about a full sensory experience.
"London’s hospitality landscape is constantly evolving, and we’ve listened: people want great music, cocktails that are both accessible and uncompromising in quality, and service that feels effortless yet precise. With this reinvention, we’ve worked hard to ensure ECC delivers all of that and more...”
Experimental Cocktail Club Chinatown reopens on Friday 3rd October 2025.
