Adam Taylor, previously of Project Halcyon and Mecanica in Manchester, has joined the operations team of Graffiti Spirits Group, ahead of its new autumn opening, MDNT.
Billed as bringing fun and old school hospitality back to bars, the lower-basement venue is the second Manchester bar of Liverpool-based GSG, with the group's John Ennis and Nick Tomas previously opening dive bar Salt Dog Slims in the building's basement.
Following the launch of MDMT - a short form of Midnight - Taylor’s role will evolve into “heading up drinks development, new openings and activation strategy for the group as its portfolio continues to develop”.
Taylor told CLASS: “This is very much a dream role for me and I am really excited about joining a group that are super creative and who really understand what hospitality should be. I can’t thank the GSG team enough for bringing me into their portfolio.”
Ennis added that Taylor was a great appointment for the group, after his success as GM of Halcyon Project, which rose to national notoriety during his tenure, not least becoming a CLASS Bar Awards finalist.
He told CLASS: “I have kept in contact with Adam since meeting him during the opening of Salt Dogs Manchester. Salt Dogs wasn’t right for him then and we were too far off launching MDNT at the time.
"Since then it has been great to see him grow in the Manchester bar scene and he’s accomplished a lot. We are delighted to have him on board and can’t wait to hit the ground running."
MDMT is to launch in late October or early November. More details will follow on classbarmag.com in the coming days.
