Georgi Radev’s Laki Kane is to close after seven years serving elevated tropical drinks in Islington.
The North London bar’s last service will be August 31.
Radev said: “After seven incredible years of shaking up award-winning cocktails, filling the air with music, laughter, and unforgettable nights… it’s time to say goodbye to Laki Kane Islington.
“This was not an easy decision. The neighbourhood has changed a lot, and despite our best efforts to keep our beloved tropical escape alive, it no longer makes sense to continue here. So, with a heavy heart but hopeful spirit, we’ve decided to move on.
“From the bottom of my heart — thank you for being part of this amazing journey. I’ve met incredible people, made memories I’ll treasure for a lifetime, and felt so much love and support from all of you.”
Radev, who says he will return with something “bigger and better”, aims to see Laki Kane off with a bang, encouraging the trade to visit the rum bar in its final days of business.
“Let’s make the next 3 weeks one big celebration — full of laughter, music, and memories, not tears,” he added. “So here’s to one last drink at Laki Kane Islington… and to the next adventure ahead.”
