Discarded Spirits Announces The Second Life Society: A Global Movement for Zero Waste Bartending.

Discarded Spirits has launched an first of it’s a progressive initiative, The Second Life Society, with the goal of establishing the world's largest free-to-access library of zero-waste, behind-the-bar knowledge. This project aims to transform the bartending industry by creating a community-driven platform for sharing sustainable practices and innovative techniques.

The Second Life Society will feature an online platform and a series of events, including a seminar and bar takeover by Oslo's Svanen at the Edinburgh Bar Show 2025, to showcase their zero-waste approach at their new D.G.AE space.

The Second Life Society is more than just a repository of information; it's a movement. Discarded Spirits recognizes that achieving true zero waste in the bar industry requires collective effort and knowledge sharing. By creating a centralized hub, bartenders from around the globe can contribute their expertise, learn from one another, and inspire positive change.

The hub will be accessible through links on Discarded Spirits’ social platforms, or QR codes that will be found at Second Life Society events throughout the UK.

Discarded Spirits is thrilled to announce the launch of The Second Life Society, an initiative by Discarded Spirits' Global Brand Ambassador, Sam Trevethyen.

"The Second Life Society was born out of a need for a centralized resource for bartenders and mixologists looking to reduce waste in their bars", says Trevethyen. "While there are many innovators in the industry finding new ways to repurpose ingredients and reduce waste, there was no single place to find this information. That's why we created The Second Life Society."

The Second Life Society contains a wealth of information, including:

• The Discarded Zero Waste Method

• Techniques for repurposing and reusing ingredients

• Educational resources and tutorials

Discarded Spirits encourages all bartenders, mixologists and other industry professionals to join The Second Life Society and share their knowledge and expertise to help create a more sustainable future for the bar industry.
