Rich Hamer has announced he will open the doors to speakeasy Over & Above in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, in March.
Having run bars in Edinburgh and spent the last ten years with Sipsmith in roles including Head of Prestige and Advocacy, Hamer now moves back into operations, taking over the two floors above Little Ale House at 7 Cheltenham Crescent.
Over & Above will offer “neighbourhood friendliness", "table service" and "upmarket serves in a relaxed but beautiful setting”.
Cocktails will have classical foundations but incorporate homemade ingredients and modern techniques, such as Campari sous vide with strawberry, fat washed brown butter whisky and a clarified Pina Colada. While syrups and cordials will also be made from scratch.
Hamer said: “We have exciting plans to offer masterclasses, tastings, events and even host takeovers from some of the best UK bars, bringing their team, menus and soundtracks to life in our top floor bar.
“We are really excited to offer something new to Harrogate residents!”
