Our Edinburgh reviewer Natasha Corfield heads to The Burrow.
Nestled just off the Royal Mile, beneath their pizza spot 3 Blind Mice, The Burrow is Edinburgh’s latest bar.
First impressions are of a sophisticated, intimate spot – which even features an original Banksy – but looking around the room, Spicy Margaritas seem to be the drink of choice.
Though not for me. I opted for the Plume, a mix of calvados, cognac, peach, egg white and soda.Unfortunately, it was more style than substance. However, the Fresca Mule, recommended by the table next to us, was a delightful surprise. Featuring tequila, strawberry, yuzu, pink pepper and ginger beer, it was a tingly, tart triumph.
The Burrow is an affordable speakeasy cocktail bar with the majority of the menu coming in at £10 – very decent for central Edinburgh. Will I be a regular? Probably not, but it’s worth a visit.
