Hamish Smith features a recent launch that went a little under the radar: Nessa in Soho.

Restaurant bar Nessa Soho on the corner of Brewer, Warwick and Glasshouse streets, is one of Soho’s latest launches, its all-day bar offering classic and signature cocktails and live music nights.

Bar manager Floriano Cubeddu (previously of The Goring Hotel, The Ned and Mortimer House) serves a menu which champions British producers and seasonal ingredients. Cocktails are "classic with a playful twist and showcase a range of UK-based brands".

Serves include the Twist & Shout (East London Vodka, Aperol, Melonade, strawberry, Mt. Fuji bitter); Cuppa G&T (Cotswolds gin, Italicus, rose, cherry, blood orange and elderflower tonic) and the Boho Negroni (East London Gin, nectarine, Mancino Ambrato, Luxardo Bianco and saffron).

Also on offer is a list of no and low cocktails, including Drift Me Away (Pentire Adrift, coriander, raspberry and London Essence roasted pineapple) and a refreshing Light Spritz (Pentire Coastal Spritz, London Essence blood orange and elderflower tonic).

There is also a list of sparkling and still wines and spirits, highlighting British producers, while Nessa’s executive chef Tom Cenci has created a concise menu of bar snacks including Chocolate covered pretzels, homemade BBQ crisps and cheese and onion croquettes with mustard mayo.

Designed by Fettle, the interiors have “taken inspiration from Soho’s eclectic and colourful past, weaving this with references to Edwardian baroque architecture and the existing features that envelope the building”.

The horseshoe bar is surrounded by lounge seating, accompanied by a combination of bespoke and mid-century modern vintage furniture, art and a mix of textural fabrics.

The bar is open all day from 8am-12am/1am, with compacted hours on Sunday.
