A Classbarmag.com poll suggests 45% of bars in England will open for outdoor service at the earliest opportunity – currently scheduled for April 12.
The poll – completed by representatives of more than 100 bars across the country – suggests almost half (49%) will reopen for indoor service at the first opportunity, likely to be around May 17.
It found that 94% of bars hope to open by May, with just 6% planning to wait until Covid restrictions are lifted, which is currently pencilled for June 21.
Boris Johnson announced the timetable for reopening hospitality on Feb 22, which is subject to the continued successful roll out of the vaccine, its efficacy, a reduction in hospitalisations and new variants not creating new and additional risk.
