Sushisamba in the City of London has opened Samba Room, a new 39th-floor cocktail lounge bar.

The bar, which is the restaurant’s first opening in Heron Tower for a decade, aims to take guests on a journey through the cultures of Japan, Brazil and Peru.

Inspired by the ingredients from these regions, cocktails include: The Toki Serenade (Suntory Toki whisky, homemade Umeshu plum wine and kukicha liqueur infused with shochu and cacao blanc) and The Rhythm of Rio (pictured left / cachaça, rum, elderflower liqueur, Brazilian lemonade, sherry, and pink grapefruit juice).

Also, on the menu are The Amazonia (pictured right / pisco, nashi pear cordial, vetiver gris) and The Lord of Miracles (coconut milk and purple yam, Thai basil-infused pisco).

Designed by Fabled Studio, the décor of the the 2500sq. ft. South American-inspired Samba Room, combines a gilded canopy entrance into a mirrored walkway, carved wood, orange and copper tones, Brazilian mid-century furniture and views across London.

Open seven days a week, Samba Room closes at 1am Sunday-Friday and at 2am on Saturday.
