London’s Nightjar has announced the launch of the inaugural edition of The Golden Shaker, an industry talent show that will donate all proceeds to The Drinks Trust.

The show will form part of Nightjar’s 15th anniversary celebrations and is open to anyone from the UK drinks industry, “from bartenders and brand ambassadors to managers and journalists”, who are invited to showcase their unique skills on stage.

“For 15 years, the heart of Nightjar has been the incredible people who make this industry so vibrant,” said Nightjar’s co-owner Edmund Weil.

“The Golden Shaker is our way of celebrating that talent - both behind the bar and on the stage - while giving back to a charity that is vital to our community. We can't wait to see the amazing acts our colleagues will bring.”

Alongside the first-ever Golden Shaker trophy, the winner will receive a magnum of vintage champagne and £250 in cash.

All proceeds from the event, from ticket sales to purchases from the specially curated £8 cocktail menu, will be donated directly to The Drinks Trust.

Applications to perform are now open. Prospective performers can apply by emailing goldenshaker@barnightjar.com with their name and a brief description of their act by the deadline of 5 September 2025. Video submissions are also welcome.

General admission tickets for the event are priced at £8 and can be purchased at https://www.barnightjar.com/the-golden-shaker from 25 August.

All tickets include a welcome champagne or cocktail on arrival and entry into a raffle featuring rare bottles among other prizes.
