Liverpool bartenders Carey Hanlon and Caitlin Waugh have announced the opening of a new city-centre bar, Slowpour.
The independently operated bar will take residence in the basement of Ropes and Twines on Liverpool’s Bold Street with a focus on slowing down and savouring the experience.
“We called it Slowpour because we’re not about rushing anything - not the drinks, not the service, not the experience. Every moment matters,” said Hanlon, formerly of Swift and Callooh Callay in London, Superlyan in Amsterdam, and Liverpool’s Present Company and Sister Ray.
The basement bar will house a bespoke sound system and a warm, approachable interior design with a focus on centring the guest experience.
“Slowpour is about creating a space for people to feel genuinely appreciated, from those who create the liquid, those who pour it, and those who drink it,” said Waugh, also an alum of Present Company and Sister Ray.
Slowpour will open in early September and operate Wednesday to Sunday from 3pm to midnight.
