East London speakeasy Nightjar Shoreditch has announced a series of events in collaboration with Woodford Reserve to celebrate its 15th birthday.
The series of events is themed around longevity in the bar industry and will see seminars, workshops and bar takeovers, with bartenders from London, Paris, Berlin and Athens taking part.
Edmund Weil and Roisin Stimpson, co-founders of Nightjar said: "It’s an absolute honour to celebrate 15 years of Nightjar. The world has changed quite a bit in that time, and as a bar, we’ve faced our fair share of challenges. Through it all we’ve grown and now, through this series, we hope not only to celebrate but to share some of the lessons we’ve learned along the way.
"Our longstanding relationship with Woodford Reserve has been rooted in shared values of craft, creativity, and a passion for excellence in hospitality, making them the perfect partner for this endeavour. This collaboration goes beyond celebrating our anniversary, it’s a reflection of our mutual commitment to enriching and elevating the hospitality community."
To mark the start of the celebrations, Nightjar will see a takeover by Candelaria on June 30, before it hosts a panel discussion at the inaugural BCB London on Tuesday 1st July. Entitled "The Enduring Bar”, the discussion will delve into what it takes to build and maintain a successful, established bar in today’s ever evolving hospitality landscape.
Following this, Nightjar and its popular sister bar, Swift, will journey to Paris for a takeover at Candelaria during Whisky Live Paris (28th – 29th September). Next, the team will head to Berlin on Sunday 5th October to take over Marian Beke’s acclaimed Gibson, ahead of BCB Berlin. A key member of the original Nightjar team, Beke will then be returning to London on Tuesday 14th October, during London Cocktail Week, to take the helm of Nightjar Shoreditch for a night.
To conclude the series, co-founder, Edmund Weil and his the team will head to Athens to join a panel discussion at Athens Bar Show alongside Baba Au Rum founder, Thanos Prunarus, exploring longevity in the hospitality industry.
Nightjar will then join forces with other international bars on Thursday 6th November to close out Athens Bar Show.
