How to make Satan's Whiskers The Ancestor

Satan's Whiskers' Ollie Sagerström Blom created The Ancestor, a sweet, spiced Highball. Crafted to complement the dried fruit and spiced flavours of Dewar's 12-Year-Old, The Ancestor features the warming notes of ginger and the sweetness of pear, elevating the whisky’s character. The addition of maple syrup brings together the whisky with the ginger and pear, adding body to the Highball; this is all rounded off by a touch of lemon for balance and a delicate zest on the nose from the orange twist.

40ml Dewar's 12-Year-Old Blended Scotch Whisky

10ml pear liqueur

15ml Stones Ginger Wine

15ml maple syrup

5ml lemon juice

Soda water (to top)

Orange twist (for garnish)


Build all ingredients in a Highball glass and fill with ice

Add soda water and gently stir to combine

Garnish with an orange twist
