An award launched last year, after the pandemic exposed the way – and way not – to look after bar staff, Bar Employer of the Year was won by Speakeasy Entertainment this year.
Edmund Weil and Rosie Stimpson’s group, which employs 50-plus staff at Swift’s three venues, Nightjar’s two sites and Oriole (in pop-up form this year) are well looked after.
With development plans for every employee in the business, four-day weeks, away days and staff feedback surveys, the conditions are in place for employees to build careers with the group – the average stay is four years.
