The world’s bestselling rum, Tanduay, will be available for the first time in the UK this month, through Emporia Brands.

Tanduay outsells all other rum brands, amassing sales of almost 24 million 9-litre cases in 2020, six million cases more than Bacardi and double the yearly volumes of Captain Morgan.

It launches in the UK with its straw-coloured Silver expression, which is aged "up to five years" in bourbon barrels and has an RRP of £22.50. Tanduay's further aged Gold, aged for "up to seven years", is priced at £23, while Double Rum, a blend of 16 and 5-year old rums, is £32.

The Philippines-based brand was founded in 1854, though most of its rum has historically been consumed in its domestic market.

Tanduay executive VP, Kyle Tan, who leads the company’s international expansion, said: “The UK is one of the most exciting markets that Tanduay will be starting this year. We are fortunate to have found in Emporia Brands a like-minded company to help us in furthering our international business."

Jack Rackham, MD of Emporia Brands, added: “We’re very excited to welcome Tanduay into our portfolio of premium spirits and to share with our customers, for the first time, the liquids coming from the number one rum producer globally.
